Introduction to Renewable Energy Systems
This class provides a broad overview of the major renewable technologies, including solar, wind, wave, geothermal, general bio fuels and hydro-power.
About the Instructor: Jeff Gilbert, Chief Technical Office for Chesapeake Solar, LLC, is a consulting Mechanical Engineer with 12 years of experience in renewable energy systems design, analysis, and installation. Jeff got his start installing and maintaining solar hot water, solar pool heating, and geothermal heat pump systems, and then became a Wind Energy Analyst for a contractor of the U.S. Dept. of Energy. There, he wrote a Small Wind Turbine Technology Characterization for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. In a later contracting position, he supported DOE’s Inventions and Innovations, NICE3, and Steam Best Practices programs.
