The Green Building Network meeting for March 2nd will be sponsored by the Elysian Energy and the Green Building Institute. The topic of the Networking Event will be a presentation of upcoming Home Energy Rating Services (HERS) training on March 22md – 27th at the Enviro Center. Jim Conlon, of Elysian Energy will do a brief presentation on market trends in building science, why HERS Raters will be in demand and an overview the HERS training program.

 

The HERS training includes a thorough review of basic energy concepts, hands on field experience with blower door and duct blaster, and instruction on performing a complete home energy rating using REM/Rate energy modeling software.  This course is designed to prepare students to conduct a field rating, blower door and duct leakage test in the presence of a trainer on Day 5, and to sit for the optional RESNET National HERS Rater Exam offered on Day 6.
